Jaguar Lacrosse History
Blue Valley West Lacrosse was formed in January 2002, with the help of parents and players. Large strides have been made over the past seasons, including establishing a website club, parent Booster Club, a year-end banquet for the team and an Alumni Game. Blue Valley West Lacrosse had a total of 42 players ranging in grade from 8th – 12th, with all skill levels. The first season record of 4-8 was deceiving, with 4 of the losses coming in overtime or by 2 goals or less. In 2003, the Jaguars competed for the first time at the Varsity level. This meant an expanded schedule versus other MSLA teams, including games in St. Louis and Columbia.
New for 2012, the former Lacrosse Association of Kansas (LAKS) expanded and reformed to include several public and private schools from Missouri, now the Lacrosse Association of Kansas City (LAKC).
The Coaches for Blue Valley West Lacrosse are Head Coach Matt Kimsey and Asst. Coaches Jason Ford, Ward Kinne and Matt Wibenmeyer. Combined the coaches have over 30 years of Lacrosse experience.
